Spanish Springs Vineyard
Located just a few miles inland from the tourist destination of Pismo Beach. Persistent onshore winds combined with nighttime and morning fog ensure a long growing season and lend to a slow accumulation of sugar and high natural acid. For our wine we selected an east facing block planted to the Alban clone of Syrah. This steep hillside block is in poor sandy-loam soils with an abundance of exposed Monterey Shale.
Slide Hill Vineyard
Spanning 40 acres of rolling hills in the southern Edna Valley AVA, this certified biodynamic vineyard is planted predominantly to Rhone varieties. Cool climate, marine derived shale soils, and coastal winds characterize this site and lead to vibrant, nuanced wines. Often, while walking our rows of Grenache, we find fossils of scallops imprinted on the white shale rocks.
Situated in the heart of the Edna Valley, Oliver’s is owned and farmed by the Talley’s and their vineyard manager Ben Taylor. Entirely planted to white varieties, we source our Chardonnay from a block consisting of a unique black soil intermixed with small white rocks. Wines from this site are often elegant and pure with plenty of minerality.
